Often called Indian Jujube, Beri Fruit, Indian Plum, Indian Cherry, Chinese Date, or Coolie Plum, this fruit is native to Southern China as well as parts of Afghanistan, Malaysia, and Queensland, Australia. Nowadays, it’s commercially grown in India. Our Jujubes are cultivated locally on our own farm and typically measure around the size of a golf ball.
Jujubes have a crisp, sweet bite similar to an apple when firm. Eaten at this stage, they offer a satisfying crunch. If allowed to fully ripen, they darken in color (yellow-orange to reddish-brown) and develop a softer, more floral sweetness. Whether you prefer a crunchy or fully ripe texture, this versatile fruit is a delicious treat.
