Perishable Goods Shipping Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines how perishable fruit orders are packaged, shipped, and handled to ensure the best possible delivery condition.
Policy Statement
Fresh fruit is a perishable product that must be handled carefully during packaging and shipping. Our company takes extensive measures to pack fruit securely and ship it quickly to maintain freshness.
However, once packages leave our facility, delivery timelines and handling are managed by the shipping carrier.
Shipping Practices
To maintain fruit quality, we:
• Harvest fruit as close to shipping time as possible
• Carefully inspect fruit before packing
• Use protective packaging materials
• Ship orders using expedited shipping when necessary
Shipping Limitations
Because fresh fruit continues to ripen naturally during transit, some changes in firmness or color may occur during shipping. These natural ripening changes are expected and do not indicate spoilage.
All orders are insured for damages. To be eligible for a store credit or replacement under our insurance policy, you must report any issues with your order within 24 hours of delivery if damaged by emailing images of the whole order with all the fruits clearly visible, unwrapped, and uncovered to info@iheartfruitbox.com. Any orders claim to not ripen correctly must be accompanied by photos and sent to our e-mail also. This evidence is crucial for us to evaluate the damage and assist accordingly. Most situations are covered under our insurance policy for damages as long as the requested information is received within the specified time frame.
Based on the evidence submitted, we will work together to determine if a replacement of the product in question, credit towards your next box, or a partial/full refund is the best possible solution. Claims without photographic evidence will be rejected.
Delivery Responsibility
Customers are responsible for:
• Providing a correct shipping address
• Ensuring someone is available to receive the package
• Bringing fruit indoors promptly upon delivery
Orders left outside for extended periods may experience quality deterioration due to temperature exposure.
Weather Considerations
Extreme weather conditions such as high heat, freezing temperatures, storms, or shipping delays may affect the condition of perishable fruit during transit.
While we take precautions when possible, we cannot guarantee fruit condition if packages experience carrier delays outside of our control.
