Fun Fact : There is a pigment that is extracted from the Jujube fruit used as a natural dye for silk.
Indian Jujube also known as Ziziphus mauritiana and Beri Fruit, Indian Plum or Indian Cherry or Chinese Date or Coolie Plum is native to southern China as well as parts of Afghanistan, Malaysia, and Queensland, Australia. These days its grown commercially in India.
Jujube is crunchy and sweet similar to a more common apple and is commonly eaten firm and before it becomes fully ripe. When ripe it will turn darn brown in colour and the flavour will change to a softer texture with a more floral flavor.
Our Jujube is grown on our very own farm and are roughly the size of a golf ball.
